1) Good: MacDuff, Malcom, Ross

   Evil:MacBeth, The murderers, the witches

2) Macduff: is a good character because is creating an army to destroy MacBeth and his bad intentions.

Malcom: He escaped after his father’s death and he didnt kill his father.

Ross: He is a good character because alert Macduff that his wife and son where killed by murders sent by Macbeth.

Macbeth: he appear as good character until he decides to kill the king. Later he became more evil and thirst for power and start killing many more people.

Murderers: they kill Macbeth wife and son.

Witches: at first they start as a neutral character and later on they help MacBeth achieve his goals.

3) The current allegiances are completely different and generally they change completly from the previous ones. MacBeth became a traitor and McDuff leave Macbeth and became a traitor too. The witches start helping MacBeth to destroy MacDuff because represent a threat to the whole plan.

4) The only way MacBeth can win his friends’ support is to confess his crimes and to become responsable for his previous acts during his ambition and thirst for power.

5) I think that the character that is the most similar to MacBeth personality is Lord Voldemort. Both are thirst for power and are looking for followers who can help them achieve their dark plans. Both where from the good side before the power arrive to them. Both where very skillful in their abilities and knowledge. They present a inmense threat to the whole community and occupied a place of respect in the society. The present ambition and desires to destroy every obstacle that prevents them to complete their goals and to get what they want.

Describe the fear, the events, and the banquet scene. During the period he became king all things start to grew darker and darker. McBeths mind is starting to became more damaged by his previous acts and he cant stay calm.

Explain how knowledge of the future has once again driven Macbeth to extreme action. The fear that is beign maintain by Macbet is leading him to take desperate actions and to rush into decisions.

Write events, thoughts, or dialogue that are neutral or ambiguous.

Macbeth: Into the air, and what seemed corporal melted As breath into the wind. Would they had stayed.

Macbeth: Glamis and Thane of Cawdor: The greatest is behind. Thanks for your pains. Do you not hope your children shall be kings, When those that gave the Thane of Cawdor to me Promised no less to them?

Macbeth: If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me, Without my stir.

Do you think Macbeth would have changed if the witches had not appeared? Explain. The ambition in Macbeth’s heart is always present and it would appear earlier or later. If someone has told Macbeth, doesn’t matter who, he would try the same in order to become king. The desire of wanting more is greater and it would always manifest in Macbeth’s actions.

Do you think most people are as susceptible to temptation as Macbeth? Explain why or why not. Temptation has always exist in human’s hearts and minds. The idea of getting something precious in any way is always tempting and causes the mind to make certain actions, doesnt matter what. The temptation of Macbeth is normal but, the actions taken in order to reach his precious goals are not the correct ones and are ones of pure evil. The idea of killing someone in order to get what you want and desired the most, is not good and leads to fatal results.

Search Act II for quotations that disclose Macbeth’s feelings about the murders. Write the quotations and explain each quote’s meaning in your own words.

MACBETH
20   There’s one did laugh in’s sleep, and one cried “Murder!”
21   That they did wake each other: I stood and heard them:
22   But they did say their prayers, and address’d them
 23   Again to sleep.

It shows how Macbeth’s fear is growing and the preocupation he express in this paragraph show the despair in Macbeth’s heart.

MACBETH
 24   One cried “God bless us!” and “Amen” the other;
25   As they had seen me with these hangman’s hands.
26   List’ning their fear, I could not say “Amen,”
27   When they did say “God bless us!”

 MACBETH
28   But wherefore could not I pronounce “Amen”?
29   I had most need of blessing, and “Amen”
 30   Stuck in my throat.
